What’s a curated onboarding experience?

A Keel specialist walks you through framework setup, evidence mapping, control alignment, and audit prep. You don’t navigate the framework alone, and we don’t hand you a generic checklist. Typical onboarding runs 6 weeks; longer for complex setups.

What’s an Operator?

An Operator is anyone on your team with accountability for risk decisions — typically founders, COOs, business unit leaders, department managers, team leads, and operations managers. People who just complete tasks or view information don’t count as Operators and are free.

What’s a Contributor or Viewer?

Accepted Answer

Two free roles. Contributors can report issues, complete actions assigned to them, and see risks they’re connected to. Viewers see risks and dashboards in read-only mode. Neither role can make risk decisions — that’s what Operators do. Everyone on your team can be a Contributor or Viewer at no charge.

How does pricing work as my team grows?

Each Operator is priced at the rate of the band their position falls into. Your first Operator is at the Band 1 rate. Operators 2 and 3 are at Band 2. Operators 4 to 6 are at Band 3. Adding an Operator doesn’t re-price the Operators you already have — it only adds the new Operator at the rate of the band they fall in.

What happens if I have more than six Operators?

Keel Risk continues at the Band 3 rate for Operators seven and beyond. If you’d like different terms — invoice billing, multi-year contracts, SSO, dedicated support — those are part of our Enterprise offer.

Can I buy Keel Comply self-serve?

Not yet — self-serve Keel Comply launches later in 2026. Today, Comply is available with curated onboarding to ensure your framework setup matches your business properly.

How does Enterprise relate to Risk and Comply?

Accepted Answer

Enterprise is a commercial offer that applies to either product. It’s not a separate tier — it’s a custom commercial arrangement on top of Risk or Comply. Use it when published self-service terms don’t fit (volume, contract length, billing terms, SSO, etc.).

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Cancel any time from your account settings; your subscription ends at the end of the current billing period.

You keep read-only access to everything Keel generated — risk register, risk appetite statement, risk universe. You can view your data but not edit, regenerate, or run review cycles. Your data stays intact if you decide to come back.

Annual saves you 20%. Monthly is more flexible — change tier, add Operators, or cancel any time without commitment.

Do I need a risk management background?

No. Keel is built for business owners and operators, not risk professionals. The guided questions surface what matters for your business — you don’t need to know the domain to get useful output.

How is Keel different from using ChatGPT?

ChatGPT can generate a plausible risk appetite statement, but it doesn’t know what it’s missing — regulatory specifics, industry obligations, the questions you didn’t know to ask. Keel’s guided flow surfaces the right questions, connects your risks to controls and treatments, and produces documents formatted for boards, insurers, and auditors. Your data persists and stays connected.
